Ruth ilana Gopen is a Master Level Practitioner and Teacher of Usui Reiki. She studied with John Harvey Gray, the longest practicing of the original Reiki Master Teachers in the United States.  Her later studies were with Norine Laferriere, student of William Rand and an integral part of the Reiki Response Team – an emergency response team that formed at Ground Zero after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Ruthie specializes in helping clients overcome physical and emotional stressors, and specializes in Women’s Issues of all kinds. She has worked extensively with women who are in recovery from addictions; women in mid-life transitions such as Empty Nest, Menopause, Career Change, and Divorce; and specializes in Women’s Empowerment. Ruthie’s education prior to Reiki was in both Social Work and Holistic Nutrition; she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services, studied at Boston University Graduate School of Social Work, holds a certification in Personal Nutrition from Shaw Academy, and studied Advanced Holistic Health and Nutrition at Clayton College of Health.

Ruthie worked in medical offices and psychiatric hospitals in both administrative and direct care positions; has led many workshops for women in a variety settings over a number of years; was an Elder Companion for over 8 years; and has been the Intake Coordinator for Renz Counseling, LLC since 2016.

Ruthie is a member of the International Association of Reiki Practitioners and the International Association for Reiki Training, and she is a licensed and insured Master Level Practitioner and Teacher.
